The Central Console is a touch-activated flat
screen. It provides an overview of the entire office using a
graphic layout of the office floor plan.
It shows which rooms are open, where the doctors are, and which rooms
have calls.
The console can be located at a convenient, central location such as
the font desk, nurses station, or on a wall. Multiple displays are
also available.
When a doctor presses a button on a room module to call a nurse, a
chime sounds, and the screen icon for that room turns bright red. A
nurse acknowledges the call by touching the screen. The icon changes to
pink, indicating to other nurses that she has responded to that call.
When the nurse arrives at the exam room and pushes a button on the exam
room module, the room icon returns to yellow, indicating that the call
has been cleared.
Exam Room Module
An Exam Room Module is located outside each
exam room. It consists of a high contrast LCD for display, and seven
tactile push buttons for input. The red and green LEDs which
indicate room status can easily be seen from a distance.
The top display line shows the status of the room:
Whether the room is open
The doctor's name, with the room number of his or her next patient
Any requested nurse calls
The lower display line contains soft labels for the push
buttons. In this photo, the Doctor can select from four nurse
calls. If the office needs more calls, the last button scrolls
through a list of choices.
Nurse Calls can also have sub-categories. For example, pressing
Injection brings up a list of shots: Flu, DT, Depo-Medrol, etc. This
allows the nurse to deal with the request in just one trip.
Doctor's Office Module
This module is mounted on the
wall of the doctor's office, or in a technical service area, such as the
x-ray suite or lab area. It displays the room numbers of up to three
waiting patients, in the order that they arrived.
"Where to Next" PC Tool Tray
This
utility is installed on a Doctor's PC or tablet. It displays the room
number of the next patient. The tool tray can also be used at the PC in
the x-ray suite or lab area.
In-Room Call Button
An optional In-Room Call button can be
located inside each exam room. If a care provider needs assistance, pressing
this button will cause the central console to chime continuously until
the call is cleared at the exam room.
